Olga Girya, Woman Grandmaster and International Master, was born on June 4th 1991 in Langepas, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Region. First her coach was father, and Olga won a number of Russian Champion titles among girls in her age group. When she turned 14 years old, Olga was invited to train chess in Moscow Specialized School of Olympic Reserve. Later on her family moved to the russian capital as well.
Olga won the European and World U-18 Championships (2009), Russian U-20 Championship (2010), she took silver medals in World Under-20 Championships in 2010 and 2011. A number of times Olga has been a member of the Russian women's team.
Her rating on the 01.09.2013 is 2439.
Olga Girya is currently studying social work, pegagogics and uvenology in Russian State Social University in Moscow. |
